Back in November, my best girlfriend got married. She's a very dear friend to me and as such, I wanted to give her a wedding gift that I had put a lot of thought into.
One day at work, a colleague mentioned a wedding candle gift that she had made before for one of her close friends. She brought up images of the idea online and straight away I thought it would be perfect for my friend too. In the following days I set about putting it together.
I bought a lovely gift box and most of the candles at Dunnes Stores (an Irish supermarket/retailer).
I adapted the poem a little to fit the colours of the candles I had bought and printed it at home on some nice paper I bought in the Art & Hobby Shop.
The finishing touch was a small heart paper embellishment that I found in the Art & Hobby Shop. I really enjoyed making this and thinking of the many times my friend would be able to take out a pair of candles from the box and light them in her new married life.

I used tissue paper to line the base of the box and keep the candles in position and tied on a few ribbons and bows.
